JUSTICE FOR ALL

P

articipants in the justice system—plaintiffs, defendants, witnesses, attorneys, and court staff—all rely on one basic tenet: the courtroom will be a place where they will be respected and heard. Every person who steps foot in a courtroom should be confident that they will have an attentive, objective, and dedicated judge to hear their case. Lauren Reeder is that person. Qualified, devoted, and experienced, Lauren carries that philosophy every day onto the bench of the 234th District Court.

Prior to being elected, Lauren had a prestigious career in the private and public sectors. After graduating from Harvard Law School, Lauren moved to Houston where she honed her skills as a litigator and trial lawyer at a large law firm and a litigation boutique. Lauren grew up in the era of e-discovery and is highly versed in the ever-changing landscape of 21st-century litigation.

Lauren left the private sector because of her public service calling, and she took a position as a Harris County Assistant District Attorney, where she efficiently handled one of the largest caseloads in the country. She served her community by prosecuting serious crimes including murder, sexual assault, aggravated robbery, and domestic violence. Outside the courtroom, Lauren has been entrenched in service in her personal life, with leading roles in civic, artistic, and reproductive justice organizations.

Lauren addresses every case with thoughtfulness.  She prides herself on being prepared for hearings and trials, respecting counsel, reaching fair and just decisions, and bring her substantial trial experience and heart for public service with her to the bench.
